- MS Ramaiah College of Engineering is a Part of Gokula Education Foundation.
- The Institution was found by Sri M.S.Ramaiah.
- Established in the year 1962.
- Visvesvaraya Technological University granted Autonomous Status to MSRIT, for both UG and PG Programmes, in the year 2007.

Placements
The Department of Placement & Training was established as a separate entity in the year 1997.
With every passing year, the number of recruiting organizations have increased in geometric progression on an average of about 250 nationally renowned organizations visiting the campus annually to conduct their recruitment process.
Industry Collaboration
The institute has several academic alliances with Government run and private organizations. This allows the students to work in collaboration with the industry and gain knowledge outside of the books. Some of these alliances are with Intel, IBM, and Schneider Electric etc.
While the institute has also partnered with ISRO in the year 2010, and 2012 for StudSat nano satellite, it is also credited for developing India’s first UAV (unmanned air vehicle). Wherein, the latter runs with an autopilot system.
